Ron Paul and why he is the best thing for America

For two and a half years Obama has done nothing to help this country, driving it only deeper into debt and turmoil. Embroiled us in more wars while failing on his promise to pull us out of the ones we were already in. He has used executive orders to sign things into law, such as the DREAM act, that Americans were firmly against, and congress voted against. He has done nothing different than Bush did but insists on putting all of the blame on Bush. Its time for someone new.

Ron Paul IS running for POTUS in 2012! He is someone that everyone can support regardless of your level of partisanship. He believes that abortion and gay rights and other wedge issues are a states territory and the federal governments only job is to secure the safety and prosperity of the American people. I will list some facts about Ron Paul for your viewing pleasure.

* He has never voted to raise taxes.
* He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
* He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
* He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
* He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
* He voted against the Patriot Act.
* He voted against the Iraq war.
* He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
* He wants to get rid of income tax.
* He wants to abolish the IRS.
* He wants to pull our troops out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Europe, S.Korea, and many other countries we are currently in.
* He is a constitutionalist.

He is the perfect person to get this country back to the way it is supposed to be, a simple of hope and freedom.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." Mark Twain

Government Shutdown

I am deeply dissapointed that the federal government did not "shut down". It would have been great to show people how little the government actually does for the average American. Even though it was a simple scare tactic it would have been wonderful had they went through with it. You would be amazed to know that life goes on without the federal government. Life would probably be better as a matter of fact. Every day the federal government was shutdown would save this country over $10,000,000,000 (thats 10billion). The only thing I didn't like about it was that they were apparently going to pay our military only half their pay.

The government of this country spends about $1,000,000,000,000 MORE than it takes in every year. To put it simply this is largely the result of big government and out of control government agencies. Eliminate the alphabet soup of government agencies and you eliminate an enormous amount of wasted money. This would directly go against the democratic agenda however. They want an enormous government and they want you and everyone else in their pocket. They want as many people as possible to lose their job so they will be dependant on the government.

The democrats will lie and cheat and steal and do whatever it takes to completely trash this country so they can rebuild it in the image they want. A land were devoid of civil independence and full of civil dependence. It is clear in obamacare that this is what they want. Obamacare will force you to participate just because you are breathing, and if you dont? A $2500 fine is in store just for you. You will be punished because you don't want to support the people who lay on their backs, crank out babies, and live off of the paycheck of everyone else who actually contributes to society.

If you think this is the way it should be then how about instead of trying to destroy this country you just move to France. I hear the people there are very pleased with their government... Judging by all the riots they have over there and in Europe (the nanystate neighborhood) in general. If you don't want to see America go down the path of people depending on their government and having no power to control the massive money hemorrhaging beast that is a leftist government then get out and vote in 2012. The elections in 2012 will quite possibly be the most important elections any of us will see in our entire lifetimes. The destiny of this country will depend on the results of those elections.

If you want a country full of civil depencence than maybe you should go to another country. America has already put this horse down once when our founding fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence.

Versatile Blogger

Well, I was awarded the "Versatile Blogger Award" which apparently means that I have to list 7 things about my self. Not much foreword to this we will just jump in.

1. My name is Cory Oxendine. The last name sounds german to a lot of people, however it is not. It is derived from a place outside of London (UK) called Ockenden which means 'land of the ox' in old english.

2. I live just outside of Maryville, Tennessee (USA). Which is an up and coming town turning into a city about 30 minutes from Knoxville.

3. I drive a Honda Prelude that has about 280,000 miles on it. My car has been through hell and back and is a testament to what good engineering is capable of.

4. I like guns... a whole bunch. There does not exist a gun that I do not want. There are, however, some that I want more than others but if I had enough money I would own one (maybe more than one) of each ever made.

5. I like working with my hands, such as building things or "garage chemist". I especially like making "weapons" such as potato launchers or scaled down medieval seige weapons.

6. I like video games and play them quite a bit, I pretty much like all genres but prefer RTS and RPG's.  My favorite game series is Mass Effect and I can't wait for the third (and final sadly) installment coming in q4 of 2011.

7. Most importantly, I am engaged to Chelsea Patty. We have been together for about 3 years and 4 and a half months. I love her more than anything in the world and we plan on tieing the knot sometime in 2012.

(bonus) I love freedom and I love America. I am appalled at the transgressions against our freedoms that have been allowed to come to pass. I'm even more appalled by the fact that not many other people seem upset by this like I am. When I talk about freedom I am not just talking about in America, although I am mostly aiming my comments at Americans. Every man woman and child has fundemental rights by simply breathing. So people in other countries will probably understand where I am coming from and see parallels in their own country. If I can get people active in their respective political climate then I am doing something good.

Remember, ignore your rights and they will go away.

Project "Gunrunner"

The government has been caught in yet another scandal, this time with quite a few implications.
As some of you may be well aware, the media lately has been making a big deal about guns being transported from America to Mexico. These guns were alledgedly provided by gun stores who are providers of armaments to the Mexican drug cartels. As a result of this the United States government passed laws providing restrictions on the sell of firearms of any calibre of .22 or larger.

Now the government is caught in the act of facilitating the drug cartels acquisition of firearms and the laws have already passed. To make things worse president Obama is wanting to place Andrew Traver, a well known anti-gun zealot, in the postion of chief of the BATFE. This could have a devestating impact on the right of Americans to own firearms.

On a side note, there is no such thing as an 'assault weapon' it is a fictitious term coined by liberal media groups to inspire the fear of firearms into the American public. Even the official definition doesn't make any sense.
as·sault weap·on

war weapon: a weapon designed for use in warfare, especially when used in noncombat situations such as terrorism

So basicly... An 'assault weapon' is a weapon designed for noncombative warfare? Or is an 'assault weapon' a military weapon (read fully automatic) that is used by terrorists? Does this mean that what category a firearm falls into is defined by the way it is being used at that particular moment? So any firearm ever made could possibly be an 'assault weapon' according to this. Think about that... Now we are making some progress in understanding the liberal agenda.

Do America a favor and write your senators telling them to oppose the nomination of Andrew Traver.

The Most Important

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

Twenty-Seven words, so simple and straight forward, yet some will question its meaning.
Lets look at the two parts of the 2nd Amendment.
"A well regulated Milita, being necessary to the security of a free State,..." This is known as a declaratory clause, a "preamble" if you will.

"... the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This is known as a restrictive clause, it states the core meaning of the amendment and the main point of it.

As you can see, those fourteen words are very clear, there is no question to their meaning or intention. Where the confusion comes in, is the word "militia". According to the dictionary the definition of militia is as follows
1.
soldiers who are also civilians: an army of soldiers who are civilians but take military training and can serve full-time during emergencies
2.
reserve military force: a reserve army that is not part of the regular armed forces but can be called up in an emergency
3.
unauthorized quasi-military group: an unauthorized group of people who arm themselves and conduct quasi-military training
This is the reason there is so much discussion about the 2nd amendment. There are three options to choose from, and this provides alot of wiggle room in its meaning. Fortunately, there is help, that is often ignored by the anti-gun believers.
According to the way the United States of America defines militia is as follows.
"The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Gaurd."
As you can, see there is nothing to be confused about. We are the militia, "We the people" are the militia of the united states. As such, every one of us is guaranteed the right to keep and bear arms, and that right "shall not be infringed".

The importance of the 2nd amendment is downplayed more than any other right you have. This right was not acknowledged with the intention of hunting, or a "sporting purpose". It is there to ensure the people have the ability to defend themselves from their own government. Without guns, we do not have the abillity to ensure our government obeys the rest of the constitution. Words and votes can be ignored without a force backing those words and votes.
‘‘Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined’’

-Patrick Henry

‘‘Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.’’

-Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

‘‘I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.’’
‘‘To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.’’

-George Mason

Clearly our forefathers believed the people themselves are to be armed, to defend themselves and each other from all threats. Clearly they believed disarming the citizenry was the most expedient way to making them peasants. WE do not serve the government it serves us, and to keep it this way we must arm ourselves and persevere to protect our right to own firearms. If we fail at this than we are at the mercy of our government, we are no longer citizens, but servants. We will no longer control our government, it will control us.

Coming Soon.
Hey everyone I will be putting something to read up soon, once I get in the mood to rant. This blog will be about politics, loving your country, the rights of every American, and guns. So if any of that sounds good then you may enjoy this and should check it out again later.
