Versatile Blogger

Well, I was awarded the "Versatile Blogger Award" which apparently means that I have to list 7 things about my self. Not much foreword to this we will just jump in.

1. My name is Cory Oxendine. The last name sounds german to a lot of people, however it is not. It is derived from a place outside of London (UK) called Ockenden which means 'land of the ox' in old english.

2. I live just outside of Maryville, Tennessee (USA). Which is an up and coming town turning into a city about 30 minutes from Knoxville.

3. I drive a Honda Prelude that has about 280,000 miles on it. My car has been through hell and back and is a testament to what good engineering is capable of.

4. I like guns... a whole bunch. There does not exist a gun that I do not want. There are, however, some that I want more than others but if I had enough money I would own one (maybe more than one) of each ever made.

5. I like working with my hands, such as building things or "garage chemist". I especially like making "weapons" such as potato launchers or scaled down medieval seige weapons.

6. I like video games and play them quite a bit, I pretty much like all genres but prefer RTS and RPG's.  My favorite game series is Mass Effect and I can't wait for the third (and final sadly) installment coming in q4 of 2011.

7. Most importantly, I am engaged to Chelsea Patty. We have been together for about 3 years and 4 and a half months. I love her more than anything in the world and we plan on tieing the knot sometime in 2012.

(bonus) I love freedom and I love America. I am appalled at the transgressions against our freedoms that have been allowed to come to pass. I'm even more appalled by the fact that not many other people seem upset by this like I am. When I talk about freedom I am not just talking about in America, although I am mostly aiming my comments at Americans. Every man woman and child has fundemental rights by simply breathing. So people in other countries will probably understand where I am coming from and see parallels in their own country. If I can get people active in their respective political climate then I am doing something good.

Remember, ignore your rights and they will go away.
